Reflections on Month One

Reflections on Month One

When your dreams come true, you don’t always recognize the significance in the moment. It takes the passage of time before you wake up, pinch yourself, and can confidently say, “Yeah, we did that.”

After a full calendar month of operating Wine 100 here in downtown Holly Springs, we’re finally grasping what’s been accomplished while keeping our eyes fully focused on what has yet to be done.

What’s been done:

  • We’ve opened our doors to the community, and the early feedback has been extremely positive. The best compliment so far? “We love the vibe.” Exactly what we wanted to hear. We envisioned a place where neighbors, friends, and friends we haven’t met yet could gather, relax, expand their curiosity about wine, craft beer, music and each other – just be together. Dream complete there.
  • We’re learned how to operate the internal systems that are necessary to run a 21st century business successfully, and you have rewarded us with your patience as we figured everything out.
  • We’ve curated a diverse selection of wines and craft beers, thanks to the expertise and unparalleled passion of our Shop Manager and operator, Bob Kaufmann. Bob has focused his 40+ years of wine industry experience into filling the shop with the most unique, most delicious, and best priced offerings he can find. And you have responded with more positive feedback!
  • We’ve built a staff that works well together and gets energy from the fun that our guests are having, sampling wines and laughing out loud. We are so fortunate to have Bob, Kellie, Steve, Russ, Hayley, Sophie and James as part of this journey. Be sure to thank them for everything they are bringing to this adventure. It could not exist without them.

What has yet to happen:

  • Tasting events need to be scheduled, additional snacking offerings need to be added, we need more trash receptacles…the list is endless and frankly not that interesting to most. But know that we are thinking daily about how we can make the experience at Wine 100 and in downtown Holly Springs better.

Thank you, Holly Springs, for welcoming Wine 100 into your community. We’ve lived here for years and are now fully embracing everything the town has to offer. Thanks for making our dreams come true through this little wine shop, and we plan to be a part of the history of Holly Springs for years to come.
