The 2022 Chenin Blanc Original comes mainly from lower-lying parcels augmented by newer parcels at mid to higher levels, aimed at capturing the variety's purity. Aged on the lees for six months, it has a well-defined, slightly more mineral-driven bouquet than its peers with light linden and nectarine aromas. The palate is well-balanced with a bitter-edged entry. A lemony Chenin, quite steely and taut with a lightly spiced finish, perhaps with a bit of Szechuan pepper, leaving the tongue tingling afterward.
