The 2022 Single Vineyard Taylors Pass Sauvignon Blanc is pungent and bright, with concentrated green apple, lime, coriander, juniper and brine. Everything is in place here. It's a juicy wine with loads of flavor. The fine phenolics through the finish elevate the wine beyond the usual summer drinking wine. Very good. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

There's a honeyed richness at first sniff, like peach cake with lemongrass garnish beside passion fruit sorbet, with whispers of green pepper and grass. Expect oodles of fruit in the mouth, fleshed out by a creamy texture and lifted by zingy acidity. This wine is dry with a balance that suggests a few years of aging are possible.

The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Taylors Pass is rather lacking in both rich aromatics and substance, which isn't surprising considering the season. The wine focuses on bright citrus, lemongrass and greener, herby characters while the zesty, acid-driven palate packs a punch. It's all a bit fleeting considering its usual caliber, but you can't control the weather.
